The movie was directed by Chris Columbus in 2001, and with the help of many they brought the magical world to life all in one movie. Both the movie and the book tell the story of Harry Potter, a boy who at the age of 11 finds out he is a wizard and begins his ongoing journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While the main plot stays the same there are many differences in how the narrative is shown in each medium. Throughout this essay it will discuss both the differences and similarities of each medium. What Are the Main Differences?   One of the main differences between the movie and the book is the amount of detail in each of the plots. The book is very long and goes into great deta...
